Story 9

Feeding the 5,000

This Feeding the 5000 learning resource can be used:

When you’re looking at miracles within the RME curriculum. As the children explore the account of Jesus miraculously feeding over 5000 people with only 5 loaves and 2 fish we can talk about the miracles of Jesus. What is a miracle? Do we believe miracles can happen?
When you’re discussing how we show compassion and care for others. Children can be gently challenged, whatever our religious beliefs should we show compassion? How can we care for others?
Across the curriculum. You could make some bread or show practical care for others, perhaps by collecting for a foodbank.

Our introduction will help you understand the resources and plan your sessions. It’s also full of ideas to extend the learning across the curriculum. Download it here.

Choose the lesson plans for the appropriate level for your class and download our pack of additional resources to go with them.

“The children were also encouraged to discuss their own thoughts and ideas about God, Heaven, helping others and being a good friend. The children were actively engaged throughout the sessions and enjoyed using all the lovely resources.”
